Kharkiv Mayor names number of damaged buildings in the city

Thousands of residential buildings have been damaged in Kharkiv as a result of Russian shelling. Critical infrastructure facilities have also been damaged.

This was reported by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov on the air of the United News telethon on Thursday, November 7.

How many houses were damaged

According to Terekhov, more than 8.3 thousand residential buildings were damaged in Kharkiv.

"Over 4.8 thousand multi-storey residential buildings and over 3.5 thousand private homes have sustained varying degrees of damage," he said.

The mayor added that public utilities are working around the clock to eliminate the consequences of Russian strikes.

"We are trying to repair the damage as soon as possible. I am very grateful to our utility companies that work almost around the clock, as well as to volunteers, international financial partners and foundations that are also helping us to eliminate the consequences of the enemy attacks," Terekhov said.

The mayor added that specialists are now completing the liquidation of the consequences of the Russian strike on Oleksiivka, which damaged a supermarket and nearby residential buildings.

On the evening of November 5, Russian troops attacked the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv. As a result of the attack, a residential building was damaged, and there was an injured person.
