Russians rush to Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi — the situation in the city
Currently the situation in the Kupiansk sector remains highly complicated and tense. Russian forces have set a goal of securing a foothold in the left-bank Kupiansk district as quickly as possible, with plans to advance toward the Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi settlement.
This was stated by Yurii Fedorenko, commander of the ACHILLES UAV battalion of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade, during a telethon.
What is the situation in the Kupiansk sector?
"The situation on the Kupiansk front is extremely challenging, as the enemy has a clear objective — to intensify their assault operations and secure a foothold on the left bank of the Kupiansk area in the shortest possible time. They also aim to expand their positions, including an advance toward Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi," Fedorenko said.
According to the military, after seizing the left bank, the enemy will try to force the Oskil River and reach the right bank. However, Fedorenko believes that the Russians will not succeed in doing so in the short term.
"Operational-Strategic Grouping of Forces, Operational Tactical Groups, brigade commanders from various agencies, the National Guard of Ukraine, the 77th Air Assault Brigade, the 43rd Mechanized Brigade, the 205th Territorial Defense Brigade, and other structural units of the Defense Forces are effectively holding the line. There is clear coordination between units and the resources we currently have, allowing us to achieve maximum results," the commander reported.
He emphasized that the occupiers suffer disproportionate losses to the results they manage to achieve on the battlefield.
In late October, the head of the Kupiansk City Military Administration, Andrii Besedin, reported that Russian troops had come close to Kupiansk. The invaders are three kilometers from the city.
In addition, the evacuation of residents of frontline settlements in the Kupiansk district continues due to constant shelling of the Kharkiv region.
