People are reluctant to evacuate from Kupiansk — why
In Kupiansk, Kharkiv region, the evacuation of the population continues unabated, as the city is already experiencing fighting with Russian troops. Despite the difficult situation and extreme danger, some people refuse to evacuate.
Andrii Besedin, Head of the Kupiansk City Military Administration, said this on the air of My Ukraine TV channel.
Evacuation in Kupiansk
Andrii Besedin said that all authorized bodies and emergency services continue to evacuate Kupiansk residents to safe regions. Despite this, there are people who refuse to evacuate, reasoning that they do not want to leave their property unattended.
"Unfortunately, people neglect evacuation efforts, refusing by saying they will stay because their homes and property are here. However, survival in such conditions is nearly impossible. The entire evacuation process is well-organized, and all resources are ready; the only thing needed is for people to agree to leave," Besedin said.
As a reminder, the head of the Kupiansk CMA reported that Russian troops tried to advance on Kupiansk and land, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully repelled the enemy attack, and the cleanup is underway.
Meanwhile, living conditions in Kupiansk are becoming more difficult for civilians — the last Ukrposhta branch and ATMs are not working.
